    Headed to Houston!

I am so excited to say that I get to meet one of our fellow BLMPMU contestants. I am happy to say I leave in the morning to go spend almost a week with Carla Morton! I am a Licensed Massage THerapist, and I have to have so many CEU credits each year to keep up my license. Earlier on this year when this journey began my hubby and I decided that I would look into completing my CEU's for this year somewhere  where I could meet someone that we met through this community. I am so happy to say Carla is being most gracious letting me stay with her, shuttling me to and from airport, school and who knows where we will end up. I have never been to Texas, and Carla has offered to show me around. I don't know if I will be blogging from there, I am sure we both will be! I hope some day many of us have the chance to meet. Watch for pictures!!

    still here

Hi everyone. It has been awhile since we have found the time to blog so I just wanted to send a quick note to let everyone know what we have been up too. We participated in the Relay for Life this past Friday night, walked all night long. I am sure we walked enough to burn off a few calories! It was a great night, coudln't of asked for better. I am very honored that to be co-chair of the event here in Rapid City and am proud to say we raised over $115,000 for cancer research! We are done having bake sales for awhile which will be better for both David and I. We will update our weights soon, we weren't doing so well for the past couple of months. But we are still here and back at it whole heartly. We both gained about 6 pounds these past few months but we will get those off plus more. We have been thinking about all of you and hope all is well with everyone. Take care and look forward to meeting many of you on the cruise!

    Excuses excuses NO MORE!

Its been awhile since we have blogged. Yes we too have been very busy and sometimes we just have time to read blogs. But to be honest I made time before, I need to make time now. I think trully we haven't really blogged because we are disappointed in ourselves. The last two months have been incredibly busy for us yes, we have had two Bake sales, fundraisors for Relay for LIfe, and another one here in two weeks. Along with those bake sales though comes two things excitement that we raised almost $5000, and knowing that after the next one we will push ourselves over that $5000 mark!Yippee we are really proud of that! But on the other hand the second thing makes us very upset, we have not been eating well. We have eaten items while baking, we have went out to eat alot these past few weeks and we both have gained. So this is it, its a new day and we are getting our heads bac in this. We are planning on going on the cruise with everyone in April and I refuse to buy clothes in the size I am now. I WILL BE SMALLER. I feel excited when I get to log on here and put that we have lost weight, even if its just a pound, so we are excited that we are commited to becoming healthy and we are excited to say today is the day and this life is our life and we are taking it back and going to live life to the fullest and that means get healthy NOW.

PS I think we need to change up our site a  little also, so watch for changes coming soon:)

Feeling better and ready to get back at it

I first want to take this time to thank everyone who made comments on our site while I was ill. Everyones kind words meant alot! I am feeling much better now and Dave and I are tired of the fact we have let a month go by since we have really been serious about this. Just have got really busy, and that is no excuse. We both feel so much better when we eat right and excersise on a regular basis. Its been almost two weeks since I have been at the swim center and I miss it badly. We both have gained about 3 pounds each, that we aren't proud of but will get it back off. I worked so hard to get under 200 pounds, just to let myself go about that line again, I am back up to 202, darn it anyway, but not for long! I have to get it back off ya know, plus a whole lot more so I can strut my stuff on the cruise ya know:) I hope this finds everyone well and hope all you moms had a great mothers day. I had a wonderful day with all three of my children, my sister and my mom. I am very fortunate that we all live close enough to be able to spend mothers day with my mom and children. Hope you are all as excited about the cruise as we are!

    Salmonilla anyone?

Well, my last blog I mentioned I had the crud which started on THursday. Actually as the weekend progressed so did the symptoms, as of Saturday night, my hubby decided it was time I went to the ER. When it came down to me having a sip of water and that would send me almost out of my skin with pain, he said that was in and hauled my butt to the ER.(cause believe me, even if I am sick I usually can eat, no less drink water) So to make a long story short, I have a really bad kidney infection, very dehydrated, and...they are testing me for salmonillaSad I had salmonilla a year ago and let me tell you I wasn't as sick then as I am now. TOday is better, I can sit up without laying on top of my computer. I can keep my eyes open. Yes, the pain pills I am sure are alot of it, but whatever works. So I am missing another day of work, which bites but they will survive without me there. I should know the results from the tests sometime this week. Although its been an awful few days, there is one good aspect...I haven't eaten much of anything and anything I do eat doesn't stick around so hopefully the scale is good to me this week. Sick thinking I know, believe me I would trade it any day for a good ole workout! TIme to go take meds again and sleep, hope all is well with everyone out there and I will get on here every chance I can when not sleeping!

    got the crud

Good thing I went to the swim center and walked this morning because as the day progresses, I feel worse and worse. Our daughter didn;t feel very good yesterday, headache, body ache , sore throat and upset stomach. Well that is how I feel now. I only have two more clients to get through here at work then I am off for the weekend. I am so glad that I got my work out in earlier or I would be missing it today. I just want to go home and curl up on the sofa with a good movie. I will be back on here when feeling better. Take care everyone and have a good weekend

What a night! Can I keep doing this? My whole body is tired...

First I want to just say that I know I haven't been blogging daily, but I do still get on here and read what you all write, and I do want you all to know we can't wait to meet you, its just been crazy busy around here. THis time of year always seems to be, I get really involved in the Relay for LIfe, and we have fundraisers and meeting and all kinds of stuff so sorry that we haven't been blogging as much.
What a night, I just got back from the swim center! Wow, I feel I have a love hate kind of relationship with that placeSmile Can I really keep doing this? I am soked like a drenched rate, my fingers are prunned from being in the pool so long, my eyes burn from all the chlorine, my biceps are burning from doing body lifts in the pool, my legs are tingling for pushing myself to run the last 30 minutes I was in there instead of just walking, my entire body achesBaring teeth I guess to sum it up...can I really push my body harder, can I really continue to sweat like a pig, and have my swim suit fade because I am there so much? My anwser is heck yeah I will keep doing this because I FEEL BETTER THAN I HAVE IN A LONG LONG TIME!! I love the feeling I am having right now, right this moment, the feeling you only get after a great workout. Heck I look at my legs and can see they are getting tighter, now hopefully that works up to my buttSmile
Now we might not be on here as often as others, but we are here, a part of this AMAZING community, and we aren't going anywhere...Let me take that back, yes we are, we are GOING ON A CRUISE with you all!!
Ok, now I have rambled on, I beter get off here and get some more paperwork done. I just wanted to share that with you, as I walked around the water channel tonight all I kept thinking was with every step I have more energy. You all have a great night and we weren't fibbing, our pictures are coming, just got to take the time to get them on here. Our computer is so slow that to enter pictures takes a few hours and I just haven't had the time lately. But soon...

With your help we can make a difference!Help fight cancer

Relay For Life®: Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.

trackSigns  Good morning everyone, hope this finds you all having a wonderful weekSmile As I said in my last blog I was going to talk about another worthwhile cause I am involved in/Relay for life. For those of you who are not aware of what Relay for Life is here is a little description: Relay For Life®, the American Cancer Society's signature event, is a fun-filled overnight experience designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer. At Relay, people from within the community gather to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and to fight back against this disease. Relay participants help raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society in its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue. During Relay For Life ® events, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. The events are held overnight to represent the fact that cancer never sleeps. Through the survivors' lap and the luminaria ceremony, we honor the people who have faced cancer first hand, and we remember those who have been lost to this disease.

But, Relay isn't about taking laps -- it's about coming together in the fight against cancer. It’s a time to remember those lost to this disease and celebrate those who have survived. It’s a place where people connect with others, share the cancer experience, and find comfort and solace. And it's an opportunity to build hope for a future where cancer no longer threatens the lives of the people we love.

As volunteers and donors, your efforts support research, education, advocacy, and services that allow the American Cancer Society to offer help and hope to people across the country when they need it most. By joining together at Relay, we celebrate life, friendship, and an opportunity to work to defeat cancer for future generations.

Now like I also mentioned in my last blog, I am co-chair of the Relay for Life here in Rapid City this year. I began participating in the Relay for life when I lost my father to cancer in 1998, I started out being on a team, since that time I have lost my stepfather, grandmother, cousin, friend and in 2001 I was diagnosed with a low grade cancer myself(but I am fine nowSmile). The following year I decided to have my own team and have had a team at the event the past several years. Four years ago I decided not only to be on a team but I wanted to be on a committee which I enjoy very much and that enjoyment has lead me to the position I hold today as co-chair. All of us on this online weight loss community is here because we all needed help in some way, maybe that was just for accountability, or needing moral support or for whatever reason we all needed each other. Now I am asking all of you, my new friends for help. We are having a contest at our meetings this month to see who can send out the most emails concerning Relay for Life. Now we get credit for every email we send, no matter if it leads to a donation or not. So I am asking you all a favor. If you would give me permission to send you an email concerning Relay for Life I would greatly appreciate it. You can send this email to my email address:2clarins@live.com

I assure you I will only use your email address to send you the information, and I am not expecting any of you to donate. Of course if you wish to donate , it is for such a worthwhile cause and would greatly be appreciated also. If you do choose to make a donation to the Relay for Life, after you get the email from me, it will tell you how to make a donation on my team website. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone of you for your time in reading this long message and again would love if I could just send you the information. With all my friends on here if I sent all those emails, I think I have a shot at winning the contest for our committee meeting in May for the Relay for Life. Thank you

For every pound lost/ more energy and confidence gained

I want to start by saying HI to everyone, I sure hope you are having a wonderful day today! THe sun is shining out here today and it is gorgeous out! SunI really hope the entire weekend is like this. I look forward to our long family walks on days like today. Red roseYa know it really seems like I never have a "big"loss, its always small, or sometimes even staying the same, or even a time or two I gained but the one thing I have noticed through this entire process, it that for every pound I loose, I gain energy and I surely gain confidence! Now I still have a LONG way to goDisappointed but I know I will get there!Smile One day at a time. I am determined by the time we all go on our cruise I have the confidence I need to wear a swim suit around all of youSurprised
We haven't updated our photo's for some time, but we will this weekend, we were going to last weekend but I had a hair appointment on Wednesday so of course I wanted to wait to show you all my "new do". I haven't been to the swim center as much this week as I normally am and I sure do miss it. I have just been so busy with Relay for Life stuff, I am co-chairing the Relay for LIfe here in Rapid City this year and although I love it, and love being so involved it is trully time consuming. But I have been on my treadmill and going for walks outsideSmile In a few days I will be blogging more about my involvement in the Relay for Life(for those of you who aren't aware of what the Relay is it is a cancer walk) and I will be giving information to all of you if any of you are interested in helping out a worthwhile cause, cancer research! But for now, you all have a wonderful day and I look forward to chatting with you all again soonSmile And just a little note to say there are several of us trying really hard to plan a wonderful reunion and I can't wait to meet all who can attend!

    What a wonderful spring day

We have had snow the past two days here. I got really tired of seeing the little thing go across the bottom or top of tv, "Winter Storm Warning". BUt today I get up and it is so nice out, I can hear birds chirping and our grass looks a little greener and you just can see what a nice day it is going to be. I wish I didn't have to go to workDisappointed When I got on here and way reading everyones blogs and thought, gee I haven't blogged in a few days I better do that, then I notice April 2nd was the last time I blogged, WOW, been more than a few daysDisappointed Right now it has been really busy for me, my business is really busy, good time of year for everyone to get a massage! WHich don't get me wrong, I love it, I want to be busy, less time to think about food! I also am co-chair for our annual Relay for Life held here in Rapid CIty, so quite a bit of my time is donated to that this time of year. If you aren't aware what Relay for Life is, it is a walk in honor or in memory of someone you know who has or had cancer. This will be my 8th Relay, YEAHY!! I did take a year off last year with focusing on getting married and buying a house, but I am back at it stronger than ever. I love fundraising for such a worthwhile cause! I started participating in Relay for LIfe because I lost my Dad, wow 10 years ago this August, and my stepdad too, my grandma, my cousin, then 7 years ago, actaully my 2nd year of participating I got cancer myself, I was lucky no chemo no radiation, all surgecially removedSmile Three surgeries later I am doing great. And David has lost both of his parents to cancer, so needless to say our entire family as a team and we have raffles and bake sales and just get out there and do everything we can to help the American Cancer Society raise money for research for cancer. Anyway, sorry I am rambling I could go on and on about the Relay: it is wonderful experience! But what I am saying is that I been busy, but no excuse not to blog, I am on here every single night reading everyone elses blogs and messaging. Does anyone have any really good recipes out there? I have seen a few on different sites and have written them down, sometimes I get bored with the same stuff that I seem to cook. My husband Dave, doesn't eat veggies or fruit, so its difficult at times. I shouldn't say he doesn't eat them, he only eats a few veggies, very few. Well I better get off here and get ready for work. I hope to get off work and do something outside for awhile! I hope all of you are able to enjoy as beautiful of a day as we are hereSun You all take care. Oh, by the way...I am looking so forward to meeting all of you next year at the MPM reuion! I can't express how excited we are to be a part of it and to meet all of you on this wonderful community. This community has really helped me loose the weight I have. And you all help me stay strong, and realize if I have a bad day or two, its not over and not to give up but to strive forward and see the long term goal. Thank you!

    Missing in Action

I first want to say I am sorry I haven't blogged lately. It has been extemely busy right now for me. I am working on getting our second bathroom installed so my wife can do some of her work here at home. I just wanted to take a minute and say Hi to everyone and hope you all are doing great. I haven't been on the computer much in the past two weeks, but I promise I will get better about blogging. My wife and I love getting your messages and reading all your blogs, they are very encouraging! I seemed to hit a platuea for a few weeks, but I am back at it stong now. I see we have not reported our weigh in's yet this week, I will remind my wife to enter those after work. You have a great week.
    Take care

I thought this day would never get here :)

As you know I have been getting close to hitting a milestone, breaking the 200 mark! Well, the last two weeks have not been good weigh ins for me, but this week I was determined, and guess what... I DID IT! I got on that scale yesterday and I am at 199.5 YIPPEE! I think I scared the bageebas out of my 10 year old daughter as she was eating breakfast as I got on the scale and I am sure that my neighbors could hear me scream. I am sooooo excited, I have not seen a number under 200 in like 4 years so I am thrilled. Yesterday was also my 4 week weigh in day for the contest we are having at the swim center and they do all our measurements also, and I have dropped 5 inches in my waist in 4 weeks!!  This really gives me the  motivation to just work even harder. I am so very excited to shared this AMAZING information with all of you and hope you are all having an AMAZING week. You take care
Oh by the way, David hasn't blogged lately because he has been extra busy at work and like I mentioned in an earlier blog, we have a guest staying with us for a little while so we are not able to get on the computer as much at night as we used to but soon we both will be back to blogging like before.

    Two birthday parties later>>>

Not just ONE bithday party with cake and ice cream but TWO!! Our daughter turned 10 todaySmile and it was also Davids brothers birthday today tooSmile Yesterday David and I took 7 girls overnight to a hotel and water park, so of course we had the decision of what to have for supper for these 7 girls plus us and our family that came to the party, of course the one thing the girls want>>>PIZZAParty We had decided earlier in the week that yes, pizza would be the simplist. Thinking ahead I did bring some soup for David and myself, as tempting as the pizza was we were strong, we want a loss this week! The hardest part was the cake, for both of us. We had chocolate cake for our daughters party last night, then today my brother in laws cake too...but you all will be really proud of us. We ate NO CHOCOLATE CAKESmile OH, but it was temping us with the coolwhip frosting...but we stayed strong. I came home and got on the treadmill and all is good. We are actaully looking forward to Tuesday(weigh in day). I hope all of you are having a great weekend also! Take care

    Getting off the pitty pot

It has been a few days since we have been able to really sit down and write. I hope all of you are having a great week. We had a very trying week, some personal things going on and didn't get to do our same excersise routine as normal, and I can feel it. I can tell that there were a few nights that I grabbed something quick to eat and ate on the run. My body feels yukky and clogged up, (not literally) just feels bogged down. Ya know I tried to justify to myself this week that it is ok that I ate a little I shouldn't have and that whats a week? Well, last nights show just confirmed how a bad week really makes a difference. A few bites here and there, they really add up. So I am off my pitty pot, enough of me dwelling on the fact that this week life didn't revolve around just David and myself eating right and doing our normal routine, life happened and just because there were obsticals, that gave me to reason to blow the entire week. I thankfully didn't gain this week, but I didn't loose either and I am done with that. We set out to loose weight and darn it thats what we are gonna do. Next time that life happens, well I am going to make better choices because darn it this is life and its happening and I will not let myself have excuses anymore! I will much smaller by the time we all meet next year, and I am excited to get on with living a healthy life! Take care to all and keep up the blogs and messages we trully look forward to logging on each day to see what everyone is up to

    More veggie tray, less gravy

Happy Easter to everyone! We are leaving today to go to family for Easter. I just wanted to say drive safe if anyone is traveling. Also, I am sure everyone else will be faced with the same temptations this holiday that we will be: should we have the potatoes and gravy, or just have more veggies, should we have those cookies for dessert, or just have an ice cold glass of crystal light, well whatever your temptations might be, stay strong, think of all the hard work you have done for yourself already. Dave and I really have to make some smart food decisions, we have had a few days this week that we have not had the opportunity to eat healthy at all so it is imparitive that we concentrate on our goals now. So my plan is too have a deviled egg, but I plan on finding that veggie and fruit tray and staying strong. I wish all of you a happy holiday and enjoy and just be proud of your accomplishments, and don't loose track of your goals.
    Take care
