    Tonights the Biggest Loser!

I always get so pumped up on Tuesdays, I look forward all day to watching the BIggest Loser. I got on my treadmill this morning for about 30 minutes then went to the swim center. Did my normal routnine there, walking against the current for 30 minutes, then doing my channel walking. When I left there I seen a sign, "Biggest Loser 8 week challenge" I asked questions and signed up. They are having a challenge to loose weight. They will weigh you, measure you, and figure your BMI. I said "sign me up". I want to say thank you again to everyone for all your comments and support on here. This is trully a great online community and even though March 11th is coming soon I hope that we all stay in contact on here and continue to venture this journey together!

    Change in our workout routine

When we started this journey our plan was to work out every other day. Patty walking on the treadmill and David lift weights. We gradually have put changes to that routine.

Patty's routine now consists of walking on the treadmill every other night, and lately I just feel energized if I walk on the treadmill in the early mornings. I just feel a burst of energy throught the day. I also have added going to the local swim center at least 3 times a week, while I am there I walk a mile in the channel, then I go into the area called the whirlpool (where the water is running at a fast pace) I walk against the current, I lunge into the water and cross my arms over so my arms feel the resistance also, I feel so rejuvinated after I do this. Then I sit in the hot tubSmile At least twice a week David, Patty, and Regina come together and swim as a family. We also go on at least one family walk a week, when sometimes we walk to the school and play soccer.  On the days I walk on the treadmill I also life weight for aproximately 20 minutes.

David lifts weights every other night for aproximately 30-45 minutes. He joins Patty at the swim center at least twice a week. He goes for walks with the family and by himself. When we go play soccer of course he is there also. David gets alot of physical excersise at his job also.

Both of us feel our favorite part of our routine is when we workout and excersise as a family. We want our daughter to know the importance or having excersise as part of a normal rountine.

    Bed an Breakfast

Today is Saturday March 1st. Dave and I are on our way to go stay at a nice little Bed and Breakfast in the Black Hills. It was our anniversary last Saturday and since we played state darts we weren't able to celebrate(except for our dance!) So I got up this morning and went to the swim center right away, that way I make sure to get my workout in for the day. David worked outside getting alot of yard work done and such. They don't have a gym there so we won't be able to work out more today but we do intend on going for a walk once we get there. We won't be able to be on here until tomorrow night so we just want to wish all of you a great day. Take care

    updated photo's getting developed now

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a great week. Hope temptations are low and excersise is high! It has been a couple weeks since we have updated our photo's so we just want everyone to know that we will be adding those either tonight after work, or tomorrow. We would love to have time to visit every single site every day but time just doesn't allow so we have been trying to stop in here and there to say we are thinking about all of you and wish you all the luck. This journey would not be the same without you all. Yea we still would be working at this together David and I, but its been such a pleasure having the opportunity to be in this wonderful weight loss community. We all are striving to be healthier and it is really great to just click on a site and see the progress that everyone is having. Keeps us motivated even when we have a down week. Take care

    Working towards 50

First off I want to say that I am proud of how good everyone is doing. My wife has done so much and has been working so hard to get where she is at. I couldn't be more proud. Its been difficult for me to loose weight but I need to and very much want to. We have been a good support team for each other. I couldn't do it without her. I will reach my goal of 50lb weight loss in 2008.

My husband, my friend, my Million Pound Couples Biggest Loser Matchup partner!

I am feeling a little netstalgic today. It is David and I first anniversary today. I just want to take a minute and tell you how special this man is, and how lucky I am to have him as a husband, friend, and partner in the Biggest Loser Millioin pound Matchup. David and I met 7 years ago, Davids brother Mike and my sister Judy introduced us when they were dating. We instantly had a  good repore, there was just sparks there. Now at that time we were both in other relationships so we were just friends. Then Judy and Mike got married and we were best man and maid of honor. A few years past and our friendship continued to grow. I got sick and ended up with a low grade cancer and landed in the hospital for awhile. This man came to see me every day. I lived in a town 50 miles away from where I worked, on my way to work on day I thought I was having a heart attack, I went to the ER, I wasn't having a heart attack but did have a mass on my thymus that they wanted to biopsy right away, my sister and mother wanted to stay with me while I had a biopsy but my children were in the other town. David volunteer to drive all the way there and get them and bring them to Rapid City, where I was in the hospital. So that entire week, he along with my other family took care of my children. And we still at this point were not dating. So a few years later, when are lives were at the point were we were able to start dating. After a few years of dating and many many more amazing stories he asked me to marry him. We both were incomplete before, both emotionally and financially. We formed this union, this team and together we have accomplished so much. With Davids help I was able to go back to school and now I am pround to say I have a career. I am proud to say that in the past year we have paid off alot of stuff from before, went to Mexico and got married, and bought a house. So I just want him to know how proud I am to call him my husband! And I know that with all we have been through before, we can make any of our goals happen. And we will loose this weight and be stronger than ever. David keep up the great work with your weight loss. And always know together we can do AMAZING things! I love you, your wife Patty
PS. yes my sister and I are married to brothers! And when we went to Mexico they came with us and was our best man and maid of honor. And they are so excited for us that we are becoming healthier.

    Temptations today

We are getting ready for a busy few days. We are on a dart league with Patty's sister Judy and Davids brother Mike. The four of us are on a team we call ourselves Sibling Rivalry. The reason we call ourselves that...we are sisters married to brothers. It is great fun to go play darts, we really enjoy it. The thing about today is we start playing around 1pm, and play probably until 10pm or so. THen depending on how we play we play again tomorrow, and then again Saturday. Why I say this is going to be tempting for us>We will be able to eat lunch before we go, but we will have to eat supper there, plus they serve alcohol, and granted we are not big drinkers or anything, but sometimes it loosens things up during state darts to have a beer. So lots of temptations for us. Wish us luck. We will stay strong!

    Weight Loss week 7

I am not under 200 pounds yet, but...it is coming soon. I am happy to say that I have lost 20 pounds since Jan 2nd when we began this journey. And I have lost a total of 32 pounds since my wedding date, which will be one year on Feb 23rd. I am so excited to see the pounds go away for GOOD.
Wow, the numbers the blue team lost were wonderful! I sure wish I was able to loose those kind of numbers, but I am happy with the numbers I have. Take care everyone

    Better days!

I feel I wanted to say something good after my last blog was sooo depressing. I feel much better about the fact I really messed up this week. We weighed in yesterday and I had a loss, and I was so worried I might gain. Also I have really been having some computer problems but things with the computer are on the mend so we will be able to get our site more like we want. Thank you all for your support and hope all is going well for all of you! I will update more this afternoon

How could I have done this?

Today is Saturday, I am really upset with myself right now. I had an incident happen at work yesterday that really upset me. So what do I do, I eat things I shouldn't. I know better but I did it anyway! We went out and shot darts last night, which was trully a great time. But...we ate at the place we went. I ordered buffalo wings and french friesSad. Not to mention all the carbs and calories in the beverages I chose to drink. Wow, I have been really trying really hard not to do that. I feel like I let myself down, and David downSad. I can't change it now, but today I will make a point of really doing an extra workout. I hope I didn't mess up my entire week. I really have a bad habit of eating to feel better. I have to stop that!
Off to a better day today

    LOVE

It would be the most AMAZING experience to go to the finale in LA, we are literally working our BUTTS off to go   Treadmill Bench Press Biggest Loser Pick us as one of the 5 to go!

    Valentines Goal

Valentines day is two days away, and I would need to loose 9 pounds in two days to get to the goal I had set for myself a couple weeks ago. I know this is not a possibility at this time. I am disappointed that I will not be under 200 pounds by Valentines day, but I am trying to look at it from the other way, I am close. Close enough that by my anniversary on the 23rd, 11 days to go I will be even closer to obtaining a number I haven't seen in a very long time. As disappointed as I am for setting a goal and not reaching it, I also am thinking of this Feb 23 2007, was my wedding day, I weighed in at 238Sad. That means I am 30 pounds lighter than my wedding day. I realize when we started this journey I weighed in at 226, so that is only 17.5 pounds that I have lost since then, but personally I am seeing the over all weight loss and that excites me so much!! This weekend I was able to put on a pair of pants that I haven't put on in over a year. I wish it was dropping off faster but at least it is coming off. Thank you to everyone one of you out there who is supporting us! We are so blessed to be making so many new friends who are on the same journey as we are, it is wonderful. Take care all

    Steppin it up a notch!

Hi everyone, hope you all are having a wonderful week! We have a very busy schedule and are always trying to squeeze everything in. We have made a comittment that our excersise is not something we are squeezing in, we are going to have it in our normal routine. Otherwise it gets put on the back burner. One of the ways we are doing that is going to the local swim center and chanell walking and just swimming and having fun as a family. We are doing this in addition to working out on the weights and treadmill. Now for me(Patty) this is fun, because I love the water, but for David, well he isn't as fond of the water as I. But as you can see by our new photo's we are going to swim center as a family, to get healthier as a family!

PS David I hope you know how much I love the fact we are in this together: Couples Million Pound Match-up, and my partner for life!

Off to the store for smaller pants soon!

Today is THursday the  7th of Febuary.  I have set a person weight loss goal of losing 50 pounds in 2008Open-mouthed
I need to lose this weight so I feel better and look healthier. I always wanted to be in shape but I guess I never had the ambition to do something about it until now. I have lost 16 pounds so far and I feel better and my pants fit loosely for once in my life. I work out every night after work, but the hardest thing has been watching what I eat. I will reach my goal because it will be worth it to me and my family.

Give Us a big number PLEASE

Well another week has gone by and another small number! I have really been watching my calories, not to many but not to few either. And we have been stepping up the excersise. But again another week with small numberSad. As much as I want a bigger number at least it went down a little this week. Maybe next week will be bigger. I had a goal set to be under 200 by Valentines day, not sure if that will happen> I will give it my best. If it doesn't happen then at least I think the way its going I should be under 200 by my first anniversary!!And that would mean alot. My husband and I danced to AMAZED at our wedding reception and it is so fitting. I am so amazed by him. He has never really worried about his weight before but he is making this lifestyle change for me. And I am trully amazed by that. Hopefully Feb 23rd 2008 we can dance to our song and my arms will go around him. That  will happen, I just know it because both of our bellies are getting smaller!!Smile Take care everyone and thank you all for your support. We want to go to the finale so badly and want to meet you all there!

    Goals for Valentines day

I have set some goals for myself and I just wanted to share them. See if I say them or write them, then I hold myself accountable. I have not been under 200 pounds in 3 years and I am so ready to see myself get into the 100's and say goodbye to the 200's FOREVER! Valentines day is coming and I want to feel good, and one way I can do that is to drop below that 200 pound line. So my short term goal is to reach under 200 by Valentines Day. I weighed in last Tuesday at 213.5 so I have 14.5 pounds to lose by then at least. WIsh me luck. One of the ways I intend on doing that is to increase my daily excercise. I have been working out on my treadmill, but I have another plan too. I am a massage therapist, and my office is at the end of a hall way, so I have set my mind to walking that hallway while my clients are changing, both before and after their massages, and on my lunch. I already have been making myself drink a glass of water between each client, and that has really helped me feel better. Well wish me luck. The reason I say Valentines day is because my one year anniversary (yeah!!) is towards the end of the month and nothing would make me happier to feel better about myself , which in turn will help both my husband and I. Heck maybe then I can by a little something nice for our anniversary:)
take care all and thank you for all your support

    Its Saturday:)

It is Saturday and what a nice beautiful day it is. My husband David is out getting excersise(shoveling snow).I was out there but wanted to take a break and just add some thoughts on here. We have had trouble with our computer lately so I haven't had the opportunity to enter information on here as much as I would like. This week I feel has been a better week for us, hopefully when we weigh in on Tuesday the scale agreesSmile. We have went for a couple walks out doors, we love getting the fresh air and our daughter joins us so it is just a nice time for all.I have been on the treadmill ALOT this week, feels great! David has worked out a few times also. We were getting really tired of what we have been eating so this week I tried a few new recipes and they were delicious. Trying another one tomorrow, I can't wait. I have been really trying to excersise and watch my calorie intake, David has been eating mainly meat and cheese and what goes along with that. We hope that you all are having a very good week and we wish you all the best!Thank  you for visiting our page and giving us your support it means ALOT!

This week for some reason was much harder than week 1. Many more temptations and less time exercising. WOW, what a difference a week made. Well we know exactly where we went wrongSurprised, we can't skip watching it for a day or two, we need to be strong togetherSecret telling and not give in! So off the couch we go, back at lifting weights and walking on the treadmill and we KNOW we will have a better week. Thank you to all who has given us support and visited our website. We want to be able to join our entire family in activities and not be to tired. So to anwser the quetions why should we win? Together we have been making our dreams come true. Losing weight, getting healthy, living a long life, that is our goal soon to be our reality:)Join us on our journey and send us to join the Biggest Loser Finale!Smile
